Live Music: Jon Amor Trio ft. Ian Siegal
£15.00
In a whirlwind journey spanning more than a quarter-century, Ian Siegal continues to cement his legacy as one of the most compelling voices in contemporary blues. Renowned for his authenticity, Siegal’s mission remains steadfast: crafting songs that echo with truth, delivering performances that resonate deeply, and serving vocals in their rawest form. Hailed as the most captivating British blues artist since the iconic figures of the sixties, his influence now stretches across more than 50 countries worldwide.
Classic Rock reveres Siegal as “a national treasure,” while America’s blues bible praises his “vast talent,” and MOJO magazine crowns him “the cleverest writer and most magnetic blues performer in the UK.” His trophy cabinet reflects that reputation, boasting two UK Blues Awards, 10 British Blues Awards, four European Blues Awards, two Mojo Blues Albums Of The Year, and three US Blues Music Awards nominations — a rare achievement for a non-American artist.
Though recognised first and foremost as a bluesman, Siegal’s artistry transcends genres, eras, and borders. His music is enriched by a life fully lived and delivered with an unparalleled stage presence: sweat-soaked performances, razor-sharp humour, incendiary slide guitar, and a soul-infused voice powerful enough to stop audiences in their tracks. Career highlights include performing alongside 92-year-old Pinetop Perkins and surviving members of Muddy Waters’ band at London’s Jazz Café, as well as unforgettable festival collaborations with post-war blues legends across Europe.
Joining forces with Siegal are the powerhouse musicians of Jon Amor Trio, a group formed in 2023 out of a shared love of blues, funk, and fearless improvisation. Combining high-energy performances with spontaneous musical chemistry, the trio have quickly built a reputation across the UK and Europe, drawing comparisons to the likes of Cream, Little Feat, and John Mayer.
The trio is fronted by Jon Amor, known throughout Europe and North America for his acclaimed work with The Hoax before establishing himself as a formidable solo artist in his own right. Amor has shared stages with Van Morrison, Buddy Guy, and Billy Bragg, and has recorded with Robert Plant.
Completing the line-up are bass virtuoso Jerry Soffe — whose credits include Bernie Marsden (Whitesnake), Larry Garner, John Etheridge, and Louisiana Red — and dynamic drummer Tom Gilkes, who has toured and recorded with Marc Ford (Black Crowes), Elles Bailey, Muddy Manninen (Wishbone Ash), Wille & The Bandits, John Cornfield (Muse, Oasis), and Ian Siegal himself.
Together, Ian Siegal and Jon Amor Trio deliver an explosive blend of deep blues tradition, funk-driven grooves, virtuoso musicianship, and fearless improvisation. The result is a live show packed with energy, soul, spontaneity, and world-class musicianship from some of the UK’s most respected roots artists.
